Mail Order Terms & Conditions


Studio Poole is committed to bringing you items of quality and renown from the best ceramic studios in Britain. This means that according to taste, some buyers will be interested in brand new items or items that are not produced any more and are deemed second hand and collectable even in "need of repair" state. The customer must check and understand what they are buying, if it is a concern to them..

Sales Glossary:

First Quality = produced by the brand factory and brand new.

Second Quality = produced by the brand factory but may have a small flaw, e.g. undersprayed, overun of glaze, or small mark from kiln heat.

AF = "As Found" usually describing a second hand item of historial and collectable interest with some wear and tear which may include a small hairline crack, crazing, or chips to rim or base rim. Figurines, may have ears, nose, fingers, hands or feet repairs. Stonewear animals may have restoration marks.

The contract between us:

We must receive payment of the whole of the price for the goods that you order before your order can be accepted.

Once payment has been received by us we will confirm that your order has been received by sending an email to you at the email address you provide in your order form or phoning you as requested at point of sale.

This e-mail is only an acknowledgement of receipt of your order and your contract to purchase these items is not complete until we send you an e-mail notifying you that the items have been despatched to you.

Our acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us.

Delivery of mail order goods to you:

Each item is individually priced for packing and delivery by weight and current Royal Mail charges apply.

We will deliver the goods ordered by you to the address you give us for delivery at the time you make your order.

Delivery will be made as soon as possible after your order is accepted and in any event within 30 days of your order.

You will become the owner of the goods you have ordered when they have been delivered to you. Once goods have been delivered to you they will be held at your own risk and we will not be liable for their loss or destruction.


It may be worth phoning us before buying an item in order to check that the item will be satisfactory, as we do not want to waste your time and ours.

All items must be returned in original packaging with original invoice, within 7 days of receipt. A full refund less postage is available.

We are not interested in prolonged negotiation and will always endeavour to be professional and decisive. We would always like return custom!

Events beyond our control:

We shall have no liability to you for any failure to deliver goods you have ordered or any delay in doing so or for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control including, without limitation, postal system neglect, strikes, lock-outs and other industrial disputes, breakdown of systems or network access, flood, fire, explosion or accident and severe weather conditions.


You acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms of our privacy policy.

Governing law:

The contract between us shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and the English courts shall have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between us.
